Naveera Driver App
Production driver app for transportation operations, with trip management, real-time location tracking, and in-app navigation. Built on MapLibre with Valhalla and OSRM routing, resilient fallback and rerouting, GPS route snapping, and heading stabilization.

About the Project
Naveera Driver is a production mobile application for transportation operations, trip management, real-time location tracking, and in-app navigation. I worked extensively on its navigation stack: MapLibre-based map experiences, Valhalla and OSRM routing with provider fallback and rerouting, real-time GPS processing for noisy and stale location updates, route snapping, encoded-polyline geometry, route-progress tracking, and off-route detection that separates genuine deviation from GPS noise. I applied map-matching techniques and HMM-based concepts to improve GPS-to-route alignment, and stabilized navigation with GPS/compass heading fusion and short-horizon dead reckoning. I also contributed to navigation resilience and offline-first behavior, including route caching and restoring active navigation sessions after app restarts.
Key Features
- Built production navigation features with MapLibre, Valhalla, and OSRM routing
- Designed resilient routing with multi-provider fallback, circuit breakers, and graceful recovery
- Implemented GPS route snapping, route-progress tracking, and off-route detection tuned against GPS noise
- Worked with navigation geometry, encoded polylines (Polyline6), bearings, and map-matching techniques
- Improved navigation stability with GPS/compass heading fusion and short-horizon dead reckoning
- Contributed to route caching, offline-first navigation, and session restoration after app restarts
